500 ABORIGINAL MISSING WOMEN 500 Aboriginal Missing Sisters. By Corinne Vautour
Friday, September 28, 2007

Where are you?

What has been done to you?

Can you get to us?

We are all here waiting for you!

We have cried many days and nights for you!

We are worried about you and your safety!

Have you traveled on highway 16 with the other sisters, have you seen our relations down east, where you there in Vancouver, where you there in Toronto?

500 Aboriginal Missing Sisters.

As Women you are the carriers of life, you are the foundations of our families, of our communities, yet you are forgotten about, abused, raped, forbidden to speak, assimilated, you hands cut of, your body disrespected, murdered.

I am here today in hope that all women and men will hear your cry for help.

You have gone missing or you have been found murdered
No one seems to care but your family and your communities
You are dark skinned, no one would miss you, so they believe
Another savage gone………. Missing……..,

Women disappeared

They have had their way with you
You are just another number so they think

I ask you as women and men today who are here

If 500 yellow women went missing what would happen?
If 500 white women went missing what would happen?
If 500 black women went missing what would happen?

I ask you

If 500 men went missing what would happen, what would take place
If those 500 men were black what would happen?
If 500 white men went missing what would happen?
If 500 yellow men went missing what would happen?
If 500 first nations men went missing what would happen? Who would care?

I ask
Who is looking for our sisters?
If it was your sister would you want help, would you want the communities to care, to feel the lost you feel.

There is for an example a highway in Northern BC called the "HIGHWAY of TEARS".
They're in Fredericton New Brunswick like in Vancouver, Mothers, Grandmothers, Fathers, Brothers, Waiting,
Waiting
and Waiting some more
for their, Daughter, their Mother, their Sister, their Friend, to come home.

The reality is there are 500 Aboriginal Women, missing or murdered in this county and no one seems to give a dam.……….
